Tiddly Inks and Challenge #24

It was my turn to host our challenge for our blog group and this is what I required:

That's right...we are going to be making an easel card for this challenge. I promise you this card is super easy to make. I know it looks hard but once you see the tutorial you'll realize just how simple it is...that is why we are doing this challenge...people think something is hard then try it and realize how easy and beautiful it is!!! So....here is the tutorial......easel card

But that's not all.....we are also going to make this a recipe challenge too.....
so you will need to include on your card
1. thing that glitters
2. ribbons
3. layers (at least)...so layer that card up!!!
4. colors...colors on your image, on your DP, on the ribbon whatever...just as long as there are 4 different colors on your card!

I think the girls wanted to kill me when they saw EVERYTHING they needed to do for this challenge but hey...it's a challenge for a reason right??!! LOL! I even sweetened the pot and said I would give out 2 prizes instead of just one if everyone in our group participated!!! So we shall see if we had 100% participation!

Also......I am trying out for a new DT team with Tiddly Inks...do you see my image? She is from Tiddly Inks and she is adorable...the voting for the DT team is open to anyone soooooooooo....I would LOVE your vote if of course you think I deserve it. You can pick your top 5 choices...I'd love to be one of them! Here is the link
Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog
You can vote until the 10th of April....I hope I see lots of #11's in the comments section...#11 is the number of my card!!! ;)

Paper Jewels Saturday

The next couple days are going to be full of projects. I have today my Paper Jewels card for you, tomorrow I will be posting my Critter card and then on Monday is the Critter/Paper Jewels blog hop! So please come by often and remember to come hop with us on Monday!
My husband came home today. Of course he's on the couch sleeping right now. He had a very long flight from Texas back here to Germany. I don't know how he can sleep with the kids yelling though!! LOL! So I am taking some time to update my blog before he wakes up and I get to spend some time with him. Oh...he bought me a mini sewing machine....I'm sooooo excited!!! Plus he found me a memento pad for coloring my images. At first I thought that the staz on was working fine until I started to use lighter shades and color the skin and then I found out that the black ink smears into the colors...like you can see on poor Mimosa's face. Digital images I have no problem with but regular images...ugh...frustrating but he got me the new pad and I'm excited about that too!!!
This by the way is Mimosa with Tulip. She is soooo darling. I have been having some coloring issues lately so I decided to do some paper piecing on her dress to make my life easier! And tulips are my favorite...I just love them and can't wait for mine to bloom out front...they are slowly coming up...I look every day to see just how tall they are getting!
I hope you all have a great weekend and I will with my husband! Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Jewels Saturday~Mimosa on the bench

Good morning/afternoon everyone. It's been a very long 2 days here in my house. My 2 year old daughter is sick so it's hard for me to accomplish much of anything other than laying on the couch with her. FINALLY a few minutes ago she said she wanted to go nigh-night so she's down for a nap which means I finally have some time to write up my blog posts and finishing some coloring on other images!
Today is my day over at Paper Jewels and I used Mimosa sitting on the the bench. She is soo cute! Although this image was already stamped for me and it is on paper I'm not used to using and I think the colors were bleeding over the edges but oh well! I wish I could remember from last night ( I know...it's not even been a full day and I can't remember) the paper I used. I am not much of a orange person but I really loved these colors together and then added an SU! in color for the CS. I also used some pop dots to lift some of the layers up and give it dimention. Along with cutting out the image and kind of "hang" her over the edge.
I hope you all have a great weekend hopefully my little one will be feeling a bit better tomorrow!

Crafty Critter Challenge #22

WOW......today has been a long day...in fact the past few days have been long. My children are doing nothing but fighting, it is literally driving me NUTS! So my littlest one is napping and it's finally semi-quiet so I can do some blog posts!
This is for our blog group challenge...here is what we needed to do:

So, to sum it up...

1. Use this picture as your inspiration for your project.
2. Keep your project natural and earthy.
3. You cannot use flowers of any kind on your creation.
4. Feel free to make anything paper crafty you like: card, tag, scrap page, 3D project, etc.

I think I did well with the challenge. The image she gave us to work with was very "beachy" to me...a flower vase full of lovely cream flowers, river rocks and sand!
I just LOVE this paper...it's from my DCWV Luxury stack....very yummy to me and yet very subtle.

A new love

Sunday...Sunday...I hope you all had a great weekend. I have been crafty this weekend. Which is much needed. My DH is gone for a month to the States for a class so it's just me and the little one's for a while!
I found a new love!!! Seriously...have you heard of Meljens Designs? No...well you have now! Isn't this teddy bear soooo adorable? And the best part...it was a freebie!!! She has a really cute giraffee right now that is a freebie if you stop by her blog.
I know this image is probably for Valentines Day but I decided to use it for a Bday card. It's for my grandma actually, her bday is next week. I know a teddy for your grandma...I thnk she'll love it! She loves anything that comes from me ;)!!!!
I used purple...I like purple but don't find myself using it very much but I am sooo pleased with this card. I actually found the DP in my scraps box and once I started putting it together I liked it even more. Of course I am entering this card in a few challenges which are listed below.
Happy Sunday everyone!

Paper Jewels Saturday!

This is my very first post as being a DT memeber of Paper Jewels. Paper Jewels is a new store that just opened last month by my wonderful fabulous friend Jenny. You MUST take a look at her store....link on my sidebar. She is selling the Bildmalarna stamps. This one is Little Mimosa....isn't she totally cute! I was doing some shopping online the other day and saw that the store I was shopping in was also selling this line of stamps BUT....Jennys' store is selling them for about 2.00 cheaper!! So she is very competitive. Also...she is not just selling the Bildmalarna line she has decided to venture out with other companies as well. So please stop by the store and take a look at what she has going on. Also she has a blog that offers challenges each month with prizes to be won.
So here is my card for the week...Little Mimosa!
I entered my card in a few challenges this week. Look at this awesome sketch...I really love this one. You can find at the bottom the challenges and where the sketch came from.
This card is a bit out of my element. I am not used to using these colors. I love my pinks and browns and blues and such but using reds and greens is not really me. But I just loved this DP and thought it would go great with this image. I am actually very happy with the way it turned out. And if you don't have any dots or donuts from Stamping Bella...you MUST get some. I use these things on everything...I just love them. I know it's hard to see in the picture but  those green ones around the circle have like a pearl look to them....LOVE THEM!!!!
