8x8 Stamp it out swap!

Mnewby~Melanie hosted a great swap for 8x8 pages using stamped images from your stamp sets. I tend to NOT stamp so much on my pages so I thought this was a great way to add a bit of stamping. I did a pirate theme and Halloween theme.
My pirate theme was going to be for a boy but then when I started I really wanted to change it up to a girl theme. I just love this saying. It came with a chipboard pack and I didn't have enough of them so I just printed them out on the computer.
The stamps I used were from SU! for the ship...isn't she cute hightlighted in pink stickles...and on the other page the skull design is from...ugh...I can't remember. But a clear stamp set.
And my Halloween theme. I used SU! sets for both images. I love the little pot and the tag I made with the spider and of course stickles on each page somewhere! I also finally used my decorative stapler that I've had forever. I did black and white staples on the corners where the pot is.

Ildi Monday

Wow, it's Monday. Today seemed like a hard day for me to get organized and "together" so-to-speak. But today is Ildi Monday so here is a new card. This is from their new line of digi images the clownkins. This one is clownkins school girl. Super cute. I think she might be my favorite image.

I used silver cardstock and a thick shimmery silver cardstock, a pattered DP, primas, brads, and my copics to color along with a bit of stickles. And since today is also my first day back in classes I thought it would be appropriate to dedicate this card to all those that have been supporting me through this journey of college at 30!
Have a great week.

Border sets

Can I just say I'm totally frustrated with not being able to move my pictures around like I want to. GRRRRRR.....
Anyway, this is the other border set I did for Mnewbys seasons border swap (I wrote this all below).
The season was summer and I wanted to do a fourth of July set. It came out a bit Americana but I like it. I am a bit country with my decor so I'm glad it took this turn.
This is one of the accent pieces, the stamp is from American Stamp Art. And I just layered the image and used some sheer red ribbon in the corner and a red button.

And here is the whole set. Simple but pretty.

I am in a swap for Mnewby for season borders. You needed to make two borders, one journal box, one picture frame, and two accent pieces. This set I am in love with and honestly wanted to just keep them for myself!! The top border I cut out the letters with the cricut I think I used Storybook it's been my favorite lately. I had this great snow DP from SU! and I also used the glitter paper I had.

I love these accent pieces. I stamped with silver an SU! stamp then used stickles for the blue and used a pearl bauble for the middle.

And here is the whole set. The other accent piece I just used my SU! tag punches and the silver ribbon is also SU! I used my SU! stamps on the journal box and more SU! ribbon across the top and for the frame I used Martha Stewart corner punch.

And of course it wouldn't be snow and it wouldn't be from me if everything didn't glitter!!!

Sorry, that's all I can show you for now but if you come back to see me during the blog hop you can see the whole image. Let's just say they aren't clowning around in the month of September! I'm super excited about some of these new release images!

Cuddles Monday!!!

Today is my Cuddles day as part of the Cuddles Ildi DT so here is my card today. I had not been very happy with my coloring lately...I had been feeling I had been getting worse instead of better (and I spent way too much money on my copics to get worse!!!) but todays card I think came out pretty good. I still can't seem to figure out the shading and dimension and all that but I'm happy today!
So this is Cuddles-Kuma forest thinking...is he not adorable? I think so! The paper is from SU! and the black paper (which is velvet) is from DCWV. I used ribbon from SU! and two jeweled embellishements. The saying is also from SU! I've had this set for a while and finally thought of the perfect card to attach it to!
Enjoy and have a great week everyone!

Another Digi Image!

Yes, I am on fire this week. I guess it's the fact that summer is finally winding down here. Yes, in Germany the summer is over around this time. I know, where I'm from this is the hottest month of the summer.
Well....I think I'm officially addicted to digi images. I found this great little blog/store called doodle palace and they have some of the cutest images. So this one is FREE...so pop on over and get it (and take a look at their store too), please bare with me, I'm still trying to figure out how to adjust the size and make them come out right so I think he's a bit big but that's okay!
I am trying out for their design team...again, I'm addicted....so this is my submission card. Wish me luck!
I used SU! new In Colors for the cardstock, colored the owl in with copics, and the little hello is from an SU! set and I also used two SU! punches. The ribbon is from Martha Stewart and the buttons...are from my own personal collection of buttons off of clothes (I'll take anything I can get my hands on!! LOL!)

My very first Digi image!

Yes, that's right, this was my first usage of a digital image. This is from the new line from Ildi Company------> link on my sidebar! This little bears name is Cuddles Picnic. You can get this image for free by emailing them and they will send you the image!
The saying is from SU!, along with the cardstock. The DP I don't know where it came from...I got a bundle of paper as a gift but I just love it! Then of course I added stickles in a few places and colored Cuddles in with my copics.

Please take a peak at the Ildi store, I'm sure you can find something you like! They are a new and upcoming online store and I am designing for them so you will see lots of plugs for them on here. Speaking of plugs:
A super deal is going on right now: buy all 10 images in the Cuddle set for just 20.00...that is a 6.50 savings! If you want this deal you will need to once again go into their store and contact them directly and ask for this wonderful savings!

Boys Border Set

Here is the boy set that goes along with the girls set I already showed. It ended up being a pirate theme. It was intended to be that but once I got started I went in this direction.

Above are the two accent pieces. I used stickles on the treasure chest and then colored everything in with copics. Then I used Calander Chicks pirate stamp for the other accent piece and added an SU! brad.

Here is the whole set. I used this awesome shimmery black and silver paper I found at the craft store on base (the picture doesn't do it justice), I also got the blocked DP at the craf store also. So there are two photo mates, one journaling box, two borders and the two accent pieces.

Border set for swap

I am really enjoying doing these now that I have done a few and kind of got the hang of what is needed/wanted/expected! Here is a set I just finished today for mysweetstix swap. It's for the girls catagory.
This tag was made with one of the huggabugs from Stamping Bella I think it's called Java huggabugs. I just love these little bugs. The other little piece that is hard to see says "friendship is a work of heart". I thought it went well with this set since it's for girls, the little bugs and since I used the heart corner adorner on the photo boxes and journaling box. Also of course I used primas, ribbon and stickles.

Altered Tin

I don't have anything recent to share because I haven't done anything recently so I had to dig into some old pictures and find something that I hadn't posted on here yet!
This is an altered tin that I did last year for one of my SS's. It was the first one I made but I love it. I wanted to keep it for myself actually! This project is actually pretty easy to do.

Cologne Germany

I have to apologize for not keeping up lately. It's summer here in Germany...yes, I said it's summer here in Germany. We don't normally get much of a summer so when we do have good weather we try to take advantage of it. I don't have a single crafty thing to share...I have been terribly lazy in that department and have been missing my work area.

But, here are some pictures of a trip we took to Cologne Germany.
Jodus climbing to get a better look at the Zoo
Family picture in the Zoo. That doesn't happen often.
We got totally lost in Cologne. My husbands great idea to walk
to the Chocolate meusum instead of drive (with the GPS)
Jodus at the front door of the Dom.
Me, Leila and Jodus on the skyline ride
The chocolate meuseum. I wasn't very impressed but the
chocolate was still good.
The fresh chocolate mmmmmmmmmm.
Leila had a LONG day!

Another Alter in the Dom.

Criss Cross Cards

I joined a swap of Traceys for criss cross cards and really enjoyed putting them together. They are pretty easy once you get all your pieces cut out. I used SU! cardstock and DP. Bikinibella and ribbon is also from Stamping Bella. I don't know what happened to my pictures though, they came out kind of blurry. Of course I added primas and filled the centers of them in with yellow stickles.

Breast Cancer Cards

Last year in October my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was progressive and they needed to act quickly to stop the spread of it. She endured six months of a very strong dose of chemotherapy and will be on medications for the next five years. She has finished her chemo which was a huge thing for her and she is feeling a lot better. She even made a joke about her hair starting to come back in!
She had asked me to put together a set of cards for her to give out to some people that had really helped her through her time of sickness. So this is what I came up with. I worked a long time on these because my mom tends to give me more credit then I deserve so I know she was "bragging" about my cardmaking skills and I didn't want to let her down or the person receiving the card. My coloring in some of them is pretty bad. I don't know what was wrong with me!
I used a purple base because my mom isn't really a "pink" "girly" kind of girl. So I wanted it to portray the breast cancer but not only pink. I used my Bella~Causabella, I used the sizzix embossing plate for the card background, copics to color, some SU! ribbon, a breast cancer charm I had bought through Oriental Trading Company, and the saying is from American Stamp Art. Oh, and of course there is a bit of stickles on her flower in the center of her dress!

Crafty Critter gals, I'm so sorry I am behind. But I promise things will be better after Sunday when my classes are officially over! I just need to really concentrate on my term paper (which is already late) and get a good grade on it or I might just barely pass! I have never been so behind in a class before. But thank you all for baring with me!!!

Bookmark swap

I participated in a bookmark swap and so loved putting these together.

The first one is just one of the jumbo clips and then I used a circle punch to punch out the solid cardstock and then the scallop circle punch for the DP, used a glitter brad in the middle and attached it. Soooooo simple. Oh, and I then tied some ribbon on them. I thought they were pretty cute.

The second one I made was something I had semi-cased from someone else. These too were pretty easy until it came to coloring in all those Rileys! I used my cricut to cut the shape out, stamped out my Rileys, layered my paper the same as the cricut shape, used the big SU! eyelets, added ribbon, colored with copics and that was it.

CCC #5

We had a great challenge this time around. It was a sketch challenge but you also had to use ribbon somehwere on your card, a stamp set you hadn't used in at least 3 months and red.

Well, I started out with a stamp set I have never actually used and had been dying to try out! I don't use red very much but...I thought what a great rock card with red, black, and white....so here is what I came up with.

I used stickles all over the card in different little ways. I am actually quite pleased with this card!

Post-It note holders

I was doing two swaps...one that was for post-it note holders and the other that was for anything altered...so I just made more post-it note holders.

I think this was the easiest thing I have ever put together. Basically you just mod podge your chipboard coasters, lay your cardstock on over it and allow it to dry. I then cut them out with a craft knife and do the process again on the other side. Being sure that I put the chipboard coasters between some heavy books to keep them flat. After they are done drying and they are cut out I use the little binder clips, and put the same DP on the little black parts of the clip and adhere them with the glue gun. Add some embellishments, primas or ribbon and I'm done. EASY!
