Cricut Pages

I just finished up my swap for mnewby's cricut pages. I did Christmas, friends, and baby boy. I have to admit, I really love how the pages came out. They are clean and minimal so that there is still room for the owner to add their own touches. The main element on the page needed to be cricut and then the rest was up to you.

Christams pages, that Merry Christmas was a Pain in the you-know-what to cut and then get off the xyron onto the page!

Baby boy, I just love love love this paper. It's from the DCWV Nanies Kids (or something) the cricut element is the little elephants...aren't they cute!!! And I am Still loving those Bella donuts and dots.

Friends, I love anything that is elegant and this for me is very elegant. I love this paper too. It is also from the DCWV but I think it's Luxury stack. The letters were cut with the cricut using the storybook set......MY FAVORITE so far...love the curliness of the letters.

These are all actually packaged up and ready to go out the door tomorrow to Melanie!

Crafty Critter Challenge #2

Our challenge that Tracey put together for us was a sketch challenge. To be honest, I had never really done any of the sketch challenges or cased them but I might in the future. It's great for a different idea of how to put a card together. I tend to use the same layout all the time so this was great. We had to use the colors pink and brown and had to have a flower somewhere on our card!

Lots to share

First things first.....SNOW....can you believe this....SNOW! I'm so tired of winter and last week we were deceived by having a very sunny week and then the past two days has been this! I can't stand to look at it anymore. And people can't understand why I don't like being here.....gee....I don't know....look at the pictures!
Backyard

My beautiful dasies
Under all that snow are flowers we just planted two weeks ago!

Here are two letters for Tracey's B-day party LOTW swap. I love this "P". It's a party all by itself!

And here are a few of the tags I'm making for Melanies All Occations Tag swap!

Crafty Critter Challenge 1

Sorry, I haven't updated in a while, I'm not even going to go into the excuses!!! Since Melanie was so gracious to allow an extra day, I was able to get my challenge card done. The challenge was to use green and yellow (which I don't use much of) and it had to be a critter....well....this is as crittery as I can get! I'm just not into bugs and stuff so hopefully this is okay! Bees are critters right?! Anyway...on to the card.....

Card kit card

I don't have much to share so I will share the one thing that I do have!!! We are doing these great ongoing Secret Sister Elements Swaps (which I'm loving Melanie) and my wonderful SS for March sent me a ton of single card kits. This was one of them. Tinkerbella. I colored her in with my copics and I added some stickles to her wings and wand and I used a piece of my own solid cardstock. Everything else came from the kit. I am sending this to my DDSS lil' sis!

WLGCC4

Our WLG had another challenge. This one was to use OLD stuff. It's actually not that easy to find a lot of old things to use. These had to be things you could not find anymore or buy (except maybe on e-bay). Well, I at least have a few old stamp sets. So I went with "Hope Is" from SU!. I actually bought this set years ago on e-bay. I haven't used it too much so I was kind of excited to get it out. I also still had some retired paper left from SU!...positively pink along with the retired ink pad. So I was doing pretty good with the old things.

But I have also found a NEW love...do you see those little round things on the side of the card? Those are the new bella donuts. If you think they look cute in the picture you should see them in person. They are soooooooooooo sparkly, I love sparkly, shimmery, glittery anything! Too bad they only come in little containers. I will surely be buying many more of these in my next bella order!!!

I also did a bit of a revamp of my page thanks to Kelly for passing on some blog badges to me. I have added: A few of my favorite things...mostly places I like to shop or my own personal pages (myspace).

Box Swap

I am doing this really great box/bag swap on SCS and these are the boxes I decided to make. They are the coaster boxes. They were so simple to make. The hardest part was putting the bottoms on them. I ended up having to break out the glue gun. I made two for Mothers Day, two for Easter and one for a friend. I also have some goodies to fill the boxes with and they will be ready to ship out!

I also did some more LOTW's. This is 'S' for Spring...I thought a flower pot was a cute idea and quite springy!!

Nothing to show

I am sorry that I do not have anything to show right now. I just went to upload pictures from the camera only to find out that it's dead! So now I have to wait for it to charge before I can bring you anything worth viewing!!!!
But you all love to hear my talk right! Yesterday was a very long day. Saturday night I decided I NEEDED to clean up our computer/craft/play-room! Well, I didn't finish it up on Saturday night so first thing Sunday I came down and started again. Once that was finished I thought, I might as well go ahead and clean the entire downstairs....so that is what I spent the rest of the day doing. Well, I then had a mid-term that I needed to do. It was in sociology, it was 5 essay questions and to get an A+ for each essay it had to be at least 1000 words long. UGH!!!! Some of his topics to write about were very hard to get 1000 words from. In the midst of that I started to get sick so I had to take my nausea and my anxiety medication which makes me drowsy, so to be honest, I'm not sure how those last two essay questions came out!!! I'm sure the professor is getting a laugh out of them! Today I'm feeling a bit better but extremely tired! So I might be spending most of my day on the couch being lazy!
Okay, I will post something crafty later today!

To all my Sassy Stampers......

I just need one moment to vent and then all will be well! When we decided to become a group we committed ourselves to that group. I am fully aware that we ALL have lives....myself included but come on ladies........you could check into our forum thread every once in a while. Most everyone is keeping up there blogs (that isn't the issue) but there have been some complaints about fellow bloggers not leaving comments and we all know there have only been about 5 of us on the forum thread in the past few weeks.
So here is the link to check in......Sassy Stampers blog thread
Also, one other thing, we all wanted to do challenges and as of the last 2 or 3 rounds the showing has been horrible. You do realize that the hostess for that challenge put's time and effort into putting it together and keeping up with it, you would think we could show our appreciation by showing up for them and joining in once in a while. I know most of you are very involved in other challenges on SCS so maybe you could try to support our group as well!!! Here is the link to our 7th challenge........letstampnscrap
Please don't think I'm saying you have to be involved in every single thing every single day but lets just try to be supportive of each other, leave the comments we are to be leaving, keep up with our blogs, and join in and be active once in a while!!!
I love all of you and I enjoy each and every one of your blogs and contributions!

Blogger 3 Challenge #6 Man Card

Making a "man" card is not exactly my area. I don't have that many men in my life and my husband doesn't really appreciate my efforts so he doesn't get many of my cards!!! But our challenge for this round for our blogger group was to make a card for a man. It needed to have a solid piece of cardstock, a piece of DP, 2 stamps, and an embelishement.

I used my one and only lonely fella! I used a clear stamp but I dont' know where I got it from. My solid cardstock is from SU! (of course) my DP is from DCWV and my embelishment is a star button. It's a 4th of July card....the best I could figure out!

Just a few things

The past few days I have been trying to finish up my rolodex swap info. cards. Can I just say these were a labor of love! I wanted them to represent me so I used a few of my favorite things. Stickles, primas, pink, and ribbon.

I think I went through just about an entire bottle of silver stickles. I used the stickles on the primas to add some glitz and I also randomly dotted the paper with stickles. The other side of the cards has my personal info on them!

I also am in a great swap doing Mother's Day cards for a women's shelter. I love love love doing swaps but I love to do them even more when they are for a cause! These were the cards I made for the swap. I also went ahead and made one for my mom and my MIL....I'm ahead of the game!

I used copics to color (of course) stickles on the wings of the angels and an SU! brad. The stamp and saying are both from American Art Stamp. I am a huge fan of angels....I love their angel stamps.

Rolodex cards

I had been dreading putting these together for an SCS swap because I had never done them before and was worried about how they would turn out. Once I got started, it was really easy. I had a lot of fun putting them together. My only problem was how to decorate the front. April isn't the easiest month for decoration ideas.
For the tab, I printed the word "April" on the computer, then I stamped with my tabs SU! set and then punched it out with the SU! tab punch. I used SU! DP to cover them and used Martha Stewart ribbon. I just used the SU! circle punches, the word "friend from one of the new SU! hostess sets and the eyelet is also SU! Simple enough right?! Oh and I can't forget the baubles from Stamping Bella!

Our WLG Challenge card......

For our SCS WLG challenge we were suppose to use a technique on glossy cardstock. I really wanted to do the soot technique. Well, I tried it and though it did work I could not figure out how to get it so it didn't smudge. I tried spraying it with acrylic spray but that didn't work. I actually really liked how it turned out otherwise. So then I decided to try the shaving cream technique. I thought what a good way to get my son involved. So he picked out the colors to use and we headed to the kitchen. We must have used way too much blue because as you can tell in my final card, you can't see any of the other colors (pink and coral). He had so much fun dropping the ink and stirring it up. We both have ink stained fingers this morning! But overall, I think the card came out pretty good and I got to spend a bit of "fun" time with my son!

Blogger 3 Challenge 5

Here is my challenge card for this round. Our challenge was to use two different hearts, a red and a pink color or two different shades of red. You also needed to have some sort of bling.

I used a sizzix texture plate for the embossed hearts then I used a new set of SU! stamps Something new to love and for the bling...I didn't use stickles LOL, I used some red crystals (or whatever they are called!) And I'm not sure where that ribbon is from but it matched so I used it!

Tag, I'm it....your next!

Melanie has sent me a challenge. Here are the rules:Go to where you store your photos on your computer. Go to the SIXTH folder and pick the SIXTH photo. Post that photo on your blog along with a SHORT story about it. Tag SIX people and leave a comment on their blog or email them letting them know you chose them. Here is a little bit about my picture and then I'm off to tag six people

Well, this is a picture of me and Leila shortly after coming home from the hospital. I guess it was nap time! This picture was taken by Jodus with his little digital camera! He didn't do a bad job huh!

Be looking for a comment on your blog to see if you've been tagged!

Busy busy busy

Well, my classes ended this past Friday and my new ones started...Today! I have been super busy with catching up on SCS swaps and taking finals. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted now that my math class is over. You just don't understand how much anxiety that class brought me. Once I turned in my last quiz yesterday I just felt better. My new classes are Sociology and Writing...sooooo looking forward to these two classes. To be honest, I was looking forward to anything but math!!!!

Enough about me, on to my swaps:

I joined a chocolohics swap and I sent German chocolate wrapped in these wrappers.

More LOTW's! I'm telling you I have about 4 of these swaps right now and I think after they are over, I am doing with LOTW's for a while. I'm going to be floating in letters. But I really liked the way these two turned out yesterday. My "A" for May and "U" for June. Bright and glittery!

I finally have something to share with everyone! I have been working really hard on some chipboard coaster albums for an SCS swap. I finished them up last night! The more I did the better I think I got and the more I just loved them!

Accent Pieces and LOTW!

Here are a few accent pieces I did for a swap I'm doing on SCS. Okay, my three favorite things, Bellas, Stickles, Copics!!!! I need to start breaking away from the Bellas a little bit!

And here are my beauties! I love how these turned out. This is my "P" for the month April....I papered pieced the boots to go with the letter.

Blogger 3 Group #3 Challenge

Here is my card for the challenge in our SCS blogger group! I'm not very impressed with it but I guess it's okay. We had to use two different patterned paper on each side, ribbon down the middle and then a stamped image. Of course...we got bellas!!!

Happy Holidays

It's been a while and honestly, I have no new crafting pictures to show because I have not been at my table in over a week. I keep looking over at it thinking....today....today! So hopefully....today....I will be able to get some things done!

But here are a few pre-christmas pictures to share with you. I would say Christmas pictures but they are still on the camera. I'm behind in everything right now. Except schoolwork! That is a good thing! I had a week break last week so I was able to still do some work and get ahead! Yay for me!!!

Enjoy the pictures!

And please be aware, I am the worst picture taker ever! The pictures of our tree look horrible! I think I need to leave the picture taking up to my husband from now on!

This is 4 strings of German lights! They do not glow as bright as American lights do!

My dear husband working on our wreaths that go on the windows. He does such a great job!

In the kitchen. I totally lit up the shelf!!!

Diaper Cake

Last week I went to a baby shower and I decided to try a diaper cake. It was really really easy to put together and didn't take as long as I thought it would rolling all those diapers! I think it turned out okay. I will do some things differently next time but it's not too shabby! She is doing a jungle theme and I thought that Giraffee on the top was cute. It's basically an "essentials" cake with little things that we know we need, i.e.; baby oil, tylenol, desitin, along with some caps, onsies, socks and whatever else I missed! Next time I will be sure to get the diapers without a pattern on them. I think it will look a bit better!

Twisted Valentines Card Swap

So the idea for this swap that I am in, is to create a Valentines Day card that is not pink and red, or at least can not be the main colors of the card. I thought this would be fun and challenging! So here is my card!

This was the first time I have used my Loads of Love set. I always have this great idea in my head and then when I try to put it onto the paper..it just doesn't turn out the way I had imagined it would. But I think the card still came out okay! And I only used a bit of red and pink! The hardest part was cutting out the hearts and the truck. I'm not good at cutting things out. Too tedious for me!

We got all our Christmas decorations and tree up yesterday. The downstairs looks really pretty with all the lights! I will post some pictures as soon as I get some free time to upload them. I also had a few functions this weekend and pictures from that also!
